Bespoke NVQ
This programme is currently offered by Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy but could be offered in other vocational areas. Learners undertake training on two days each week and have the opportunity to work towards one of two City and Guilds qualifications as follows.
Level 1 Salon Services
This option is for learners who would like an insight into the Hairdressing industry but are still undecided that it is their preferred vocational area. The programme is delivered in-house without the the need for students to work in external salons or with external clients. Skills are developed by simulation and practising skills with other learners and staff members in Palmersville's purpose-built hairdressing salon.
NVQ Level 1
This option is aimed at learners who wish to follow a career in hairdressing or beauty therapy. One day each week is spent in the salon at Palmersville and second in a local salon with a placement provider.
Attendance
Learners attend for up to two days per week for two academic years.

Course Content
This accredited programme puts a large emphasis on practical skills, however, there is a need to develop a portfolio of evidence. This can amount to 50% of study time.
